Air Source Heat Pump Installers in Newcastle, Gateshead and the North East

An air source heat pump is a heating system that takes warmth from the outside air and raises it to a useful temperature for your radiators, underfloor heating and hot water. It is designed for homeowners who want to replace a gas, oil, LPG or electric heating system with something that runs on electricity and produces far less carbon. We survey the property, calculate the heat loss room by room, size the system around that calculation and install it ourselves. If the design shows a heat pump is not the right answer for your home, we will tell you that before you spend anything.

Free, no obligation survey.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Free survey

We visit the property, measure the rooms, check the insulation, look at the existing pipework and radiators and talk through how you actually heat your home.

  2. Step 2

    Design and quote

We produce a room by room heat loss calculation, size the heat pump and emitters around it, and give you a written quote with the grant position set out clearly.

  3. Step 3

    Installation

Our installers fit the heat pump, cylinder, controls and any upgraded emitters, then commission the system and set the heating curve with you.

  4. Step 4

    Aftercare

You get the handover pack, the warranty paperwork and a point of contact. We check in after the first heating season to make sure the settings still suit you.

Benefits

Much lower carbon

Heating with electricity from an increasingly low carbon grid produces far less carbon than burning gas, oil or LPG in the property.

Heating and hot water together

One system covers space heating and hot water, so you are not running a separate immersion or backup heater through the winter.

Designed for your property

The heat loss calculation drives the system size, the flow temperature and which radiators need changing, rather than a standard package applied to every house.

Is it right for my property?

  • You currently heat with gas, oil, LPG or electric heaters and are thinking about the next system.
  • There is somewhere outside for the unit with air flow around it, usually along a wall or at the side of the property.
  • There is space indoors for a hot water cylinder, commonly in an airing cupboard, utility room or loft.
  • Your loft and cavity insulation is reasonable, or you are willing to improve it as part of the project.
  • You are happy with a system that runs at a lower flow temperature for longer rather than short, very hot bursts.
  • Older and solid wall homes can work, but the survey has to confirm the heat loss and the emitter sizes first.

Costs and funding

Every project is priced from the survey, so you get a written quote for your own property rather than a headline figure.

Funding changes what a project costs you. Check energy grants and funding.

    Areas we cover

We install air source heat pumps across Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, Sunderland, South Shields, North Tyneside, Durham, Northumberland and Teesside. See every area we cover across the North East.

    Frequently asked questions

Will a heat pump work in an older house?

Yes, provided the design accounts for the building. Older and solid wall homes lose more heat, so the survey checks the heat loss room by room and sizes the radiators and the unit around that result. Where insulation is poor we will say what needs improving first rather than fitting an undersized system.
